This combination of Belzona products offers high erosion resistance (Belzona 1311 Ceramic R-Metal contains ceramic particles) as well as protection against cavitation.
The Belzona 2141 ACR-Fluid Elastomer used in repairing the cavitation damage is a flexible rubber material that provides protection against wear, cavitation, erosion, and corrosion. After repairing the vessel, it is fully operational again and durably protected against further cavitation damage.
The reason for repairing the cavitation damage to the vessel.
The suspension of the ship’s propeller exhibited severe cavitation damage. Due to the shape of the rudder and the propeller, this led to heavy erosion and pitting corrosion on the vessel.

Après inspection, il est conseillé de réparer les dommages locaux avec le Belzona 1311 Ceramic R-Metal. Après la réparation du navire, il est recommandé de le protéger contre de nouveaux dommages de cavitatio avec un système flexible. À cet effet, une sous-couche de Belzona 1341 et Belzona 2141 ACR-Fluid Elastmer comme couche de finition flexible est proposée.
La méthode de réparation des dommages de cavitation est la suivante
Après des mesures du taux de sel/chlorure à l’aide d’un test Bresle, il est apparu que les valeurs étaient trop élevées. La surface a été décontaminée à l’aide de Belzona Saltaway, puis rincée à l’eau déminéralisée. Ensuite, la surface a été sablée selon les spécifications de Belzona. Les puits de corrosion créés par la cavitation ont été remplis avec du Belzona 1311 Ceramic R-Metal. Ensuite, deux couches de Belzona 2141 ACR-Fluid Elastomer ont été appliquées.
